Barnitz is a district of the Saxon community Käbschützal in the district of Meißen .

geography

Barnitz is located southwest of the district town of Meißen between State Road 85 in the west and Bundesstraße 101 in the east. Barnitz is connected to the federal motorway 14 via the “ Nossen -Ost” junction . From the village roads lead to Porschnitz , Krögis and Nössige . Neighboring towns are Porschnitz in the north, Mauna in the north-east, Krögis in the east, Soppen in the south and Schrebitz in the south-west . Nössige is located northwest of Barnitz. With the exception of Schrebitz (municipality of Ketzerbachtal ), all surrounding places are part of Käbschützal. The Barnitzbach flowing in from the north dries up again in Barnitz.

In 1219 an Ortolfus de Burnewiz was mentioned. The assignment of this entry to the place Barnitz is not completely secured. A clear assignment of the first documentary mention is possible for the year 1334. This year Burnewicz is mentioned first. The place was part of the Castrum Meißen in the Margraviate of Meißen . After the basic rule in 1551 which still manor Graupzig was attributed to the documents mention from 1696 own manor in the village. The place was then the Erbamt belonging Meissen. In the 17th century, the spelling Bernitz was used for the place name. From 1856 to 1875 the administration of the place was incumbent on the court office of Meißen, after that the administration of the same name in the Kingdom of Saxony . The manor building, built in Barnitz in 1731, is well worth seeing. It was included in the list of cultural monuments for Käbschützal by the Saxon Ministry of the Interior .

In 1900, the Barnitz district with the associated district of Meschwitz was 152 hectares in size. In 1925, 153 of the 176 inhabitants were Evangelical-Lutheran and 22 Catholic . One person did not belong to any denomination . Barnitz was parish in the neighboring Krögis and is now part of the local parish . The place lost its independence on November 1, 1935 when it was incorporated into Krögis. After the Second World War , Barnitz was first part of the Soviet occupation zone and later the GDR . After the district reform in 1956 , the place belonged to the Meissen district in the Dresden district . After reunification and reunification , Barnitz belonged to the newly founded Free State of Saxony and initially remained in the district of Meißen. In the district reform in 1994 , the place became part of the new district of Meißen . In the same year, the three municipalities of Krögis, Jahna-Löthain and Planitz-Deila merged to form the new large municipality of Käbschützal with 37 districts.

On August 1, 2008, the two neighboring districts of Meißen and Riesa-Großenhain merged as part of the second district reform in Saxony to form the third district of Meißen .

With over 100 pieces per square kilometer, Barnitz has statistically the highest density of round swimming pools in the district of Meißen (1.1 per hectare).
