Krakendorf is a district of the city of Blankenhain in the Weimarer Land district , Thuringia .

Krakendorf lies in a side valley of the Schwarza at the beginning of the rain-like natural terrace of the plateau. The road from Lengefeld via Hochdorf and Thangelstedt leads through the village. It is about 1 km to the state road 1060 Blankenhain- Tannroda . It is 3.5 km to Blankenhain.

history

On April 28, 1217 the first documentary mention of the place was. Stone and Bronze Age finds prove an early settlement of the area. The Trauschenmühle settlement belonging to the village is outside the village. The children of both settlements go to school in Blankenhain. The place was and is characterized by agriculture.

In 1742 the church received an organ from the workshop of Johann Christoph Schmaltz from Wandersleben .
