Großlohma is a district of the city of Blankenhain in the Weimarer Land district , Thuringia .
geography
Großlohma is 4.5 km from Blankenhain. The average altitude is given as 400 m above sea level. To the west of the village is the Költsch forest area . Großlohma and Kleinlohma are close together and therefore have a common transport connection via the roads. To the north runs very close to the federal highway 4 with connection at Magdala via the state road 1060. The district lies on a hilly plateau, which has rain-like terrain. The soils arose from the weathering of shell limestone and are mostly locations remote from the groundwater.
history
The Rundlingdorf was created by Slavs . The first documentary mention is dated August 18, 1317. It was not until 1499 that the name Großlohma appeared in the Blankenhain rule. Large and medium-sized farmers cultivated the place, which was also destroyed in the Thirty Years War. On July 1, 1950, the villages of Groß- and Kleinlohma united to form Lohma .
