Lotschen is a district of the city of Blankenhain in the Weimarer Land district , Thuringia.

geography

Lotschen is 4.5 kilometers east of Blankenhain. Keßlar is its eastern neighbor, from which the local connection road 308 leads to the state road 1060. The seclusion of the hamlet was probably the reason that the residents once built a wall-like village fortification that is still visible.

history

On February 18, 1190, the place was first registered. In 1450 the place was mentioned as Lotzhayn in a list of places in the terminiar districts of the Augustinian monastery in Erfurt . The name of the place is probably of Slavic origin. The place was part of the Blankenhain rule . In 1585 the village owned a Freihof which belonged to the Blankenhain manor and which burned down in 1640. The place also burned down completely in the Thirty Years War . Large and medium-sized peasant ownership prevailed in the agricultural town until after the Second World War. In 1730 there were nine tensioned goods with 11 owners. The Kammergut Kottenhain has been part of the community since 1850.
