Nokia [ ˈnɔkiɑ ] is a city in western Finland . It is located immediately west of the city of Tampere .
Since June 1, 2003, after a long time, trains of the Finnish railway VR-Yhtymä on their way from Tampere to Pori have stopped in the city again .
In Nokia in 1865 by engineer Fredrik Idestam (1838 to 1916), the company Nokia established.
politics
Nokia is considered a working-class city with traditionally high results for left-wing parties. In the 2012 municipal council elections, the Social Democrats succeeded in replacing the conservative rallying party as the strongest party. The left-wing alliance puts the third largest group ahead of the grassroots Finns and the Greens. The center and the communists are represented by three MPs each. With 5.9%, the Communist Party achieved its best nationwide result in Nokia in 2012. Another mandate is held by the Christian Democrats.
