Odesskoje ( Russian Оде́сское ) is a village (selo) in the Omsk Oblast in Russia with 6148 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 90 km as the crow flies south-southwest of the Omsk Oblast Administrative Center in the southern part of the West Siberian lowlands , about 12 km from the state border with Kazakhstan .
Odesskoye is the administrative center of the Odessky Rajons and the seat of the rural community Odesskoye selskoje posselenije, which also includes the villages of Antambek (8 km southwest) and Slavgorodka (11 km south).
history
The village was (according to other sources in 1904) of evacuees from the south west of the 1906 Russian Empire , the governments of Kherson , Poltava and Ekaterinoslav founded and after that time belonging to the government of Kherson city Odessa (now Ukraine ) first as Novaya Odessa ( "new Odessa ”).
On May 25, 1925, the place became the administrative seat of a Rajons named after him under the current name.

Odesskoye is located on the regional road 52A-5 from Omsk, which reaches the border a good 15 km southwest and in Kazakhstan leads as the A13 to Kokshetau . The nearest train stations are in and around Omsk on the Trans-Siberian Railway .
