The Oldsmobile Model L was a two-stroke engine passenger car manufactured by Oldsmobile in the 1906 model year . Because of its simplicity, the car was touted as particularly reliable and powerful. Oldsmobile saw the car as a future-oriented further development of the Side Entrance Touring model from the previous year.
The car had a conventional front end with a honeycomb radiator and brass lamps, but this was higher than that of the four-stroke models . Underneath was a longitudinally installed two-cylinder two-stroke engine with a displacement of 3,218 cm³, which delivered 24 bhp (17.6 kW) and was connected to the rear wheels via a three-speed gearbox and a chain drive. The brakes worked on the two rear wheels and a drum on the gearbox. The fenders on this model were particularly voluminous. In addition to a touring car with four doors and four to five seats, there was also a runabout with two seats.
In the only year of production, 100 vehicles of this type were built. In 1907 the model was discontinued and Oldsmobile concentrated in future on four-stroke engines.
