The Oldsmobile Model 30-A was an upper mid-range passenger car released by Oldsmobile , a General Motors brand , in 1923 . Its successors with the designations BE were manufactured until 1927.

In the first year of production, the car was the middle model in the Oldsmobile range. There was also the model 43-A with four cylinders and the model 47 with eight cylinders. The new car could thus be regarded as the successor to Model 37 from model year 1921. The car, available as a 2-door roadster, 4-door tourer, 2-door coupé and 4-door sedan, had a side-controlled six-cylinder in-line engine with 2,769 cm³ displacement, which delivered an output of 42 bhp (31 kW) via a single disk - Dry clutch, a three-speed gearbox with center shift and a cardan shaft was forwarded to the rear wheels. All four wheels were provided with wooden spokes and the rear wheels were mechanically braked.

The 1924 model 30-B was the only Oldsmobile model after the four- and eight-cylinder cars were discontinued. A 2-door Brougham (limousine) joined the range of bodies. Technically and stylistically there were few changes,

The 30-C model came out in 1925 . It had a modernized radiator and parts that had previously been nickel-plated were delivered in chrome from the middle of the year. In addition to the standard models, there were better equipped deluxe versions. The engine output sank to 40 bhp (29 kW) and the wheelbase grew by ½ ″.

The 30-D model was offered in parallel to the C model as early as 1925. Actually, it was run as a 1926 model. The transition from the engine compartment to the bulkhead was no longer blunt, but curved again as in the earlier torpedo models. For the first time, there was also a two-tone paint scheme on request. A 4-door landaulet was added as the most luxurious body . The engine output increased again to 41 bhp (30 kW). The wheels were available with wooden or wire spokes or as steel disc wheels.

In 1927 the model 30-E got a bigger engine. It had a displacement of 3,031 cm³ and made 47 bhp (34.6 kW). For the first time at Oldsmobile, there were brakes on all four wheels. The wheels were provided with wooden or wire spokes.

In the following year the Oldsmobile F-28 replaced the model 30. In 5 years 236,474 cars of the model 30 AE were built.
