Kenya took part in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo with a delegation of 37 male athletes in 21 competitions in five sports.

The Kenyan athletes won a bronze medal, which meant Kenya's first ever medal at the Olympic Games. Athlete Wilson Kiprugut secured this over 800 meters.
