For the first time since 1924 , the mixed competition was again included in the Olympic program. The game was played on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club at Wimbledon from August 1st to 5th, 2012. A total of 16 mixed doubles took part in this tournament. The draw took place on July 31, 2012. In the final, the Belarusians Wiktoryja Asaranka and Max Mirny and the Britons Laura Robson and Andy Murray, who started with a wildcard, faced each other. The top seeded Belarusian duo turned a set deficit around and won the game 2: 6, 6: 3, [10: 8] and thus secured the gold medal in front of Robson and Murray, who won silver. The bronze medal won the third place American Lisa Raymond and Mike Bryan , they defeated Sabine Lisicki and Christopher Kas from Germany 6: 3, 4: 6, [10: 4].
