The US Virgin Islands took part in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, USA, with eight athletes.

It was the US Virgin Islands' fifth participation in the Winter Olympics , and no medals could be won.

Anne Abernathy was 48 years and 307 days old at the toboggan competitions, making her the oldest competitor at the Winter Olympics.

Flag bearer

Luge rider Dinah Browne carried the US Virgin Islands flag during the opening ceremony at Rice-Eccles Stadium .
