Orgelbau Böttner is a German organ building company that has its workshop in Frankenberg , Hesse , and built numerous new organs, especially in Northern Hesse .

history

Wolfgang Böttner (born July 18, 1925 in Kronenberg - Sudberg ) learned organ building from Kamp in Aachen. He then worked from 1951 to 1957 as a journeyman at Euler in Hofgeismar and deepened his skills and knowledge from 1958 to 1960 at Kruse in Lohne (Oldenburg) . He passed his master craftsman examination in 1959. In 1960 he founded his own company in Frankenberg. Alongside other employees, his sons Stephan Böttner (* 1956 in Hofgeismar) and Christoph Böttner (* 1960 in Lohne) worked in the workshop. Stephan Böttner passed the master craftsman examination in Kassel in 1986. 120 new organs were built by 1990.

Christoph Böttner completed a preparatory course for the master craftsman's examination in Ludwigsburg in 1987/1988 . In 1991 he passed the master's examination in Kassel and built his masterpiece (II / P / 14) for the Protestant church in Wunderthausen . He has been running the company since 1995. In addition to maintenance work, restorations are increasingly being carried out.
