Ottone Enrico del Carretto, Marchese di Savona e di Grana, Conte di Millesimo (Germanized Otto Heinrich (del) Carretto di Grana ) (* 1629 in Genoa ; † June 15, 1685 in Mariemont , Hainaut ) was an imperial military leader and from northern Italy Diplomat, most recently royal Spanish governor in the Spanish Netherlands .

Life

Grana's parents were the Ligurian - Piedmontese imperial field marshal Francesco del Carretto (1592–1652), Marchese di Grana etc. as well as Margarethe, Countess Fugger zu Nordendorf and Wörth (1592–1652), a great-granddaughter of the merchant and banker Anton Fugger .

Grana achieved a certain fame as a military leader of the German Emperor Leopold I. During the Dutch War , in November 1673, as Colonel, he became military governor of the city of Bonn, which was liberated from the French . After the death of his first wife, Grana married Maria Theresia van Arenberg (1666–1716), the sister of his son-in-law, in 1683. The connection remained childless.
