LEDA / PGC 10139 (also NGC 1023A ) is an irregular dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type IBm in the constellation Perseus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 38 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 10,000 light-years across. The galaxy is a close companion to its neighbor NGC 1023 .
Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of elliptical galaxies with nearby fragments (Arp catalog) .
