Paola Loew

Paola Loew (born February 14, 1934 in Trieste ; † January 13, 1999 in Vienna ) was an Austrian actress and radio play speaker .

Life

After attending high schools in Buenos Aires and London , and the depositing of the baccalaureate took Paola Loew in Berlin acting classes with Marlise Ludwig and received a music education. She played her first stage roles from 1955 in the theater club at the British Center Berlin. From 1956 to 1957 she had an engagement at the Theater in der Josefstadt and from 1958 she was a member of the ensemble at the Volkstheater in Vienna. There she took part in the so-called Blockadebrecher premiere in the drama Mother Courage and Her Children during the Vienna Brecht boycott . In 1966 Ernst Haeussermann brought her to the Burgtheater . She made her debut with Through the Clouds by Francois Billetdoux. At the end of the 1989/1990 season she left the Burgtheater and subsequently turned to the theater group "Theater mbH". In 1991, for example, a directorial work on the play Die Spur by Vladimir Arro and in 1995 a participation in Peter Wagner's Die Nackten was recorded.

During her stay in Argentina , she was discovered for the film by the director Karl Ritter , and from 1951 she was involved in four productions. Karl Ritter also directed the 1953 feature film El paraíso . In 1954 Paola Loew was in A Life for Do by Gustav Ucicky with Hans Söhnker , Charles Regnier and Renate Schacht and the comedy The disappeared miniature based on a novel by Erich Kästner , directed by Carl-Heinz Schroth with Ralph Lothar , Paul Westermeier and Paul Bildt to see. On television, she appeared in series such as Chief Inspector Marek and Tatort . She played her last role in 1997 in the television film Lamorte by Xaver Schwarzenberger with Friedrich von Thun , Gertraud Jesserer and Senta Berger .

Paola Loew also worked in a few radio play productions and worked as a voice actress in the American western Vera Cruz .

Paola Loew was married to the pianist and composer Friedrich Gulda from 1956 to 1966 . The sons David Wolfgang and Paul come from the marriage . The latter is now a well-known pianist, composer and conductor . She later entered into a relationship with the writer and journalist Friedrich Torberg , which lasted until his death in 1979.
