Pawel Vladimirovich Tregubow ( Russian Павел Владимирович Трегубов ; born December 21, 1971 in Krasnodar ) is a Russian chess master .

Life

In 2000, the first European championship was held in Saint-Vincent . After 11 rounds with 120 participants, Pawel Tregubow was the first European champion ahead of Aljaksej Aljaksandrau and Tomasz Markowski .

Tregubov won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 2nd place at the tournament in Alushta (1993), 3rd place at the tournament in Cetinje (1996), 1st place at the tournament in Krasnodar together with Sergei Dolmatow and Sergei Rublevsky (1997), 1st place at the tournament in Krasnodar (1998), 1st place at the tournament in Krasnodar together with Maxim Sorokin (1999) and 1st place at the tournament in Krasnodar (2001).

At the Chess World Cup 2009 he was eliminated in the first round after a tie and subsequent several blitz chess games 7 to 9 against Varuzhan Akobian .
