Pavla Rybová

Pavla Rybová (born Hamáčková ; born May 20, 1978 in Chomutov ) is a Czech pole vaulter who became indoor world champion in 1999 and won the bronze medal at the 2005 World Athletics Championships .

Life

She started athletics at the age of 16 and tried her hand at hurdles and heptathlon before she got to the pole vault by chance. The first successes were achieved after six months. Her trainer Boleslav Patera said he saw parallels to the former Czech pole vaulter Daniela Bártová .

At the age of 18, she moved to what is now Club Dukla Prague and began to study in Prague.

Pavla Rybová is 1.70 m tall and weighs 66 kg. She starts for the Dukla Prague club . Since autumn 2006 she has been married to the former decathlete Jiří Ryba .

• 1999: 7th place indoor world championships (pole vault: 4.35 m), 6th place world championships (pole vault: 4.40 m)
• 2000: Participation in the Olympic Games (pole vault: 4.00 m - eliminated in qualification)
• 2001: Indoor world champion (pole vault: 4.56 m), 8th place in the world championships (pole vault: 4.45 m)
• 2002: 6th place European Indoor Championships (pole vault: 4.35 m)
• 2004: 11th place Olympic Games (pole vault: 4.40 m)
• 2005: 6th place European Indoor Championships (pole vault: 4.55 m), 3rd place World Championships (pole vault: 4.50 m)
• 2006: Participation in indoor world championships (pole vault: 4.25 m - eliminated in qualification)
