Pavlos Melas ( Greek Παύλος Μελάς ( m. Sg. )) Is a municipality in the Greek region of Central Macedonia . It was formed on the occasion of the administrative reform in 2010 from the merger of three municipalities. The administrative seat is in Stavroupoli. The community bears the name of the Greek officer Pavlos Melas , who played an important role in the battle for Macedonia at the beginning of the 20th century. The Pavlos Melas concentration camp, named after him, is located in the municipality of Stavroupoli, also on the municipal territory.

Pavlos Melas is a suburb of the northern Greek port city of Thessaloniki . It borders in the south with Neapoli-Sykies and Ambelokipi-Menemeni , in the west with Eleftherio-Kordelio , in the north with Oreokastro and in the east with Pylea-Chortiatis .
The A 2 runs through the municipality with a junction to the A 24 , the eastern bypass of Thessaloniki, which continues to the airport. The Ethniki Odos 2 also leads south from the A2 to the city center of Thessaloniki. From EO 2 the Ethniki Odos 111 runs westwards around the east it has a connection to the A 25 .
Administrative division
The municipality Pavlos Melas was formed on the occasion of the administrative reform in 2010 from the merger of the municipalities of Stavroupoli , Polichni and the rural municipality of Efkarpia , which have since formed the three municipal districts. The administrative seat is in Stavroupoli.
