Delta ( Greek Δέλτα ( n. Sg. )) Is a municipality in northern Greece, a little west of the central Macedonian capital of Thessaloniki . It was created on January 1, 2011 through the merger of three parishes, which have since formed parish districts. It comprises nine small towns and larger villages, the largest of which are Diavata with almost 10,000 inhabitants and the municipal seat of Sindos.
Delta includes the lowest part of the Axios River Delta ; next to this flow the Loudias , which delimits the municipality of Alexandria , and the Gallikos in the municipality into the Thermaic Gulf . The east of the municipality borders on the closed urban area of the agglomeration of Thessaloniki with the municipalities of Oreokastro , Kordelio-Evosmos and Ambelokipi-Menemeni . The neighboring municipality to the north is Chalkidona .

The eight city districts elect local councils, the local community Vrachia a local representative. The population figures come from the results of the 2011 census.
