Visaltia ( Greek Βισαλτία ( f. Sg. )) Has been a municipality in the northern Greek region of Central Macedonia since 2011 . The parish is divided into four parish districts. The administrative seat is in Nigrita . The community is named after the ancient Macedonian district of Bisaltia .

The municipality of Visaltia extends over 658.333 km² in the east of the Central Macedonia region . Bordering municipalities are in the north Iraklia , Serres , in the east Emmanouil Pappas , Amfipoli and in the south Langadas and Volvi .
Administrative division
The municipality was formed after the administrative reform in 2010 from the merger of the former municipalities Achinos , Nigrita , Tragilos and Visaltia . The administrative seat of the municipality is the city of Nigrita . The former municipalities have since formed municipal districts. The community is further subdivided into 2 city districts and 25 local communities.
