Peter Anton von Korff (born December 26, 1787 in Tromitten , † October 22, 1864 in Stargard ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

He was the son of a Polish Rittmeister von Korff and his wife, a born von Kurowski.

Military career

Korff visited the cadet houses in Kulm and Berlin . Subsequently, on April 4, 1803, he was employed as a private corporal in the infantry regiment "von Puttkamer" of the Prussian Army and at the beginning of August 1805 advanced to portepeef ensign . As such, he took part in the Battle of Auerstedt during the Fourth Coalition War.

After the Peace of Tilsit , he was transferred to Colberger Infantry Regiment on September 6, 1808, and at the beginning of June 1809 he was promoted to second lieutenant . In the campaign against Russia in 1812 Korff fought in the battles near Eckau, Wollgund and Bausk. For his work in the Battle of Paris Korff received the Iron Cross 2nd class.

By the end of December 1815 he rose to the position of captain and company commander in the 33rd Infantry Regiment .
