Peter Pumm (born April 3, 1943 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian football player .

Career

societies

At the age of 18, Pumm belonged to the traditional Austrian club and Bundesliga club 1. Simmeringer SC , played 54 games in three seasons, in which he scored four goals, and moved to league rivals FC Wacker Innsbruck due to relegation in 1964 . After four seasons and recently two second places in the championship, he moved to Germany for FC Bayern Munich for the 1968/69 season .

For Bayern he played 84 Bundesliga games in which he scored two goals. On August 17, 1968 (1st matchday) he made his debut in a 2-0 home game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern , on September 12, 1969 (5th matchday) he scored in a 3-0 home win against Borussia Dortmund his first goal. Together with his compatriot Gustl Starek , he celebrated the double in 1969 by winning the championship title and the DFB Cup . In 1971 he ended his successful years in Munich with another success in the national cup competition and returned to Austria.

For Donawitzer SV Alpine he completed four seasons, including one in the second-rate national league, as the club was excluded from the top division in 1974 despite the athletic qualification due to reforms. In the Bundesliga, he and the team previously finished 6th, 9th and 6th and also won the Krone footballer election for footballer of the year in 1971 . This is particularly noteworthy as in all the years before only players from the two major Viennese clubs Rapid and Austria were able to prevail in this election.

For the 1975/76 season he was signed by the reigning champions SSW Innsbruck (the syndicate of WSG Swarovski Wattens and FC Wacker Innsbruck ). In its first season Pumm was used six times and reached the 2nd place in the championship with the team . With his only Bundesliga game, the 2-0 win at home against Austria / WAC (the syndicate of FK Austria Wien and Wiener AC ) on September 11, 1976 (8th matchday), he contributed to the championship in his last season .

National team

Between 1965 and 1973, Pumm played 19 times in the senior national team . He made his debut on October 9, 1965 in Stuttgart in the 1: 4 defeat against Germany ; his last game - he played for Heinz Schilcher from the 46th minute - he played on March 28, 1973 in Vienna in a surprising 1-0 victory over the Netherlands . He scored his only international goal in the qualifier for the 1974 World Cup in a 2-0 win over Sweden on June 10, 1972 in Vienna.
