Philipp Scheucher (born March 22, 1993 in Graz ) is an Austrian pianist .

education

Philipp Scheucher received his first piano lessons at the music school in Weiz at the age of five . As a ten-year-old, Maria Zgubic taught him the preparatory course at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz . In autumn 2008, Markus Schirmer began his training as an extraordinary student. After completing the AHS Matura with “Excellent Success” in June 2011, he began his regular studies with a major in piano in October of the same year.

Artistic success

Competitions

Philipp Scheucher has already won numerous prizes in both national and international competitions:

  • At the Austrian youth music competition Prima la musica he won first prize several times at state and federal level (2004 in Vienna , 2006 in Eisenstadt and 2008 in Innsbruck ).
  • He is an international prize winner at the Mozart Competition in Brno in 2003.
  • At the talent show in the Greith House in 2005 he won 1st prize in the Classical - Musical category .
  • In 2008 he took part in the international piano competition Munich Piano Podium for Young People and was awarded eleven prizes.
  • In 2010 he was the winner of his age category at the Zlatko Grgošević piano competition in Zagreb and was also the overall and absolute winner .
  • He was also awarded first prize in 2010 at the Ricard Viñes international competition in Lleida .
  • In September 2014, together with the Russian pianist Georgy Voylochnikov, he won first prize at the Cologne International Music Competition as well as the sponsorship prize of the "Friends of Young Musicians Cologne-Bonn"
  • In March 2015 he won 1st prize at the “Aarhus International Piano Competition” and two special prizes in Aarhus / Denmark .
  • In February 2016 he won the 2nd prize at the "13th UNISA International Piano Competition" in Pretoria / South Africa .

Concerts

Philipp Scheucher had numerous concert appearances at home and abroad, such as in the Wiener Musikverein with Markus Schirmer, in Esterházy Palace (Eisenstadt) , in Gasteig in Munich , in Tegernsee Palace , in Offenburg , in the Graz Opera , in the Franz Liszt Gallery in Budapest , in the Enric Granados Auditorium in Lleida as well as at ORF (including Licht ins Dunkel ). In the Minoritensaal in Graz he performed with Angelika Kirchschlager as part of the benefit concert for Live Music Now . Markus Schirmer presented him at the Amabile concert series alongside other young artists at the Graz Music Association. He participated in the production of the music volume Expedition Piano with accompanying CD for the Wiener Urtext Edition .

In October 2010 he made his concert debut in the Stefaniensaal of the Grazer Congress with the Great Orchester Graz recreation under the direction of Michael Hofstetter with Mozart's 9th Piano Concerto ( Jenamy ) . His debut with the Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54 by Robert Schumann in the Golden Hall of the Wiener Musikverein took place on April 24, 2012 with the Orchestra Association of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna under the direction of Robert Zelzer. On May 31, 2014 he performed in the Herkulessaal (Munich) and on June 1, 2014 in the Gewandhaus (Leipzig) .
