Phoenix Award (Science Fiction)

The Phoenix Award is an American literary prize that has been given since 1970 to science fiction authors who have made a special contribution to fandom in the southern states . The prize is awarded at the DeepSouthCon, a science fiction convention that takes place annually at changing locations of the former American Confederate . Together with the Phoenix Award , the Rebel Award will be given to deserving fans and the Rubble Award, which is not meant to be serious, to notorious fans.
