Suddenly Papa (original title: Demain tout commence , French for tomorrow everything begins ) is a French drama by Hugo Gélin from 2016 . Omar Sy can be seen in the main role .

action

The young single Samuel enjoys his life to the full on a sunny dream beach in the south of France. But when one day Kristin, a long-forgotten one-night stand , shows up at his place, it comes to an end. She introduces Samuel to a 3 month old baby named Gloria and explains that this is his daughter. Samuel cannot understand this and wants to get rid of Kristin. She asks him to hold the child for a moment and takes a taxi away. Samuel flies to London after her to get rid of the baby, but doesn't find Kristin. In a subway station, a film agent spontaneously offers him a job as a stuntman after a breakneck action on an escalator . Since he has no more money, he accepts the offer, stays in London, raises Gloria there and the two become inseparable.

Eight years later, Gloria and Samuel live together in London. Samuel pretends to Gloria that her mother is a secret agent who sends pictures and messages from all over the world, but that he is behind. At the same time he forwards Gloria's messages to Kristin's Facebook profile, which has not been used for 8 years. One day Kristin answers and comes to London. Samuel, Gloria and Kristin get to know each other better. When Kristin finally expresses her wish to Samuel to be there next to him as a mother for Gloria and to want to find a solution, since she lives with her boyfriend in New York, Samuel closes emotionally.

It comes to a custody dispute, which Samuel can decide for himself. Soon after, Kristin requests a paternity test , and Samuel learns that Gloria is not his child. Kristin has custody. When Gloria leaves her father and is already sitting in the taxi, she goes back to him again and flees with him to the south of France. Meanwhile, Kristin learns from Samuel's friend Bernie that Gloria is ill and probably won't have much longer to live because she was diagnosed with a heart defect four years ago . After all, Bernie and Kristin also come to the south of France and they have a good time there. Gloria dies a few weeks later. Samuel is at the sea and looks back on the time with Gloria.

For the role of Gloria, director Gélin used the child actress Gloria Colston , who made her acting debut with the film. Before that, she had started a career as a DJ at the age of four under the name DJ Glo .
