Police IT applications
Police IT applications and police information systems are roughly divided into incident processing systems ( criminal charges , traffic accidents, etc.), information systems (information and research functions) and search systems.
A case processing system is an information technology system for case processing . A manhunt system is used for a nationwide (or international) manhunt of persons ( manhunt ) and things ( manhunt ).
The transitions between the individual systems are partly fluid. The common core here is the police information model , a technically consistent, conceptual information model that can be used to describe cross-system police information objects.
The software used varies between the individual federal states and within a federal state also between the various authorities ( police , justice, etc.).

Remarks:
- AGIL, INPOL-Land and POLAS can be seen as synonyms . After the failure of INPOL-neu in 2001, the POLAS software originally developed by the Hamburg police force was used by the INPOL-Land (AGIL) working group as the basis for further development of INPOL-neu and INPOL-Land.
- The RIVAR portal (Rhineland-Palatinate information, process, evaluation and research system) consists of the modules INPOL POLIS , process processing system POLADIS , crime situation picture KLAUS , geographic police information system , crime Geopolis K , automated traffic accident statistics AVUS , graphic automated traffic accident statistics GRAVUS traffic information , geographic traffic accident statistics system GRAVUS , Geographical Information System GIS and Police Crime Statistics PKSWeb . - CASA, CASE, EASy, eFAS, KRISTAL, MERLIN, SAFIR, b-case and ZEUS are country-specific names for rsCASE - software developed by rola Security Solutions for practical work in the field of operational investigations by authorities.
- KOYOTE is software from INTS Software Solutions GmbH that is used to convert the connection data of the telecommunications operator
- FBS-TH ( F all B earbeitungs- S ystem TH üringen) is a case management system which has been programmed by the company OPTIMAL SYSTEMS Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH, Jena. It is used to make criminal investigation processing more convenient and efficient.
