Poniatów ( German  Peucker ) is an almost depopulated village in the south of the powiat Kłodzki in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland. It belongs to the municipality of Bystrzyca Kłodzka ( German  Habelschwerdt ), from which it is 11 kilometers southwest.

geography

Poniatów is located in the southeast of the Habelschwerdter Mountains in the upper Erlitz valley , which forms the border with the Czech Republic. Neighboring towns are Poręba in the northeast, Długopole Górne in the east, Gniewoszów in the southeast and Rudawa in the northwest. Beyond the border are Vrchní Orlice ( Hohenerlitz ) in the south, Neratov in the southwest and Nová Ves ( Neudorf ) in the northwest. To the south rises the 891 m high Czerniec ( Black Mountain ), to the west lies the 992 m high Anenský vrch ( Ernestinenberg ) on the slope of the Eagle Mountains .

history

Peucker was also referred to as Peuckerdorf in older documents . It was laid out in the middle of the 16th century on royal forest land. A glassworks is said to have been in operation at the time, and ore mining was carried out in two tunnels. Since it did not have a house of worship itself, it was initially dedicated to the branch church in Lichtenwald and together with it came to the parish of Ebersdorf . In 1665 it was dissolved by Lichtenwald and parish to the re-established parish of Rosenthal . The cemetery of the Seitendorf branch church at that time served as a burial place for Peucker.

Together with other chamber villages in the Habelschwerdt district , Peucker acquired in 1684 the governor of Glatz, Michael Wenzel von Althann , who formed the lordship of Schnallenstein from the newly acquired villages , the main town of which was Rosenthal, so that it was also known as the "lordship of Rosenthal".

After the Silesian Wars , Peucker and the County of Glatz came to Prussia in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg . For the beginning of the 19th century, eleven piece people, nine gardeners , three cottagers and a board mill are proven for the dominial portion .

After the reorganization of Prussia, it belonged to the province of Silesia from 1815 and was initially incorporated into the district of Glatz. In 1818 it was reclassified to the Habelschwerdt district , to which it belonged until 1945. In 1939 there were 219 inhabitants.

As a result of the Second World War , in 1945, like almost all of Silesia, Peucker fell to Poland and was renamed Poniatów . The German population was expelled. Some of the new residents were displaced from eastern Poland . Due to the remote border location, however, Poniatów left many residents in the next few decades, so that it is largely depopulated. For the year 2007 three inhabitants are registered. 1975-1998 Poniatów belonged to the Wałbrzych Voivodeship (German Waldenburg ).

Freirichtergut

The free judge property, which did not belong to the Dominium, formed its own share. The following are proven to be free judges: Melchior Mücke (around 1600), Georg Gauglitz (from 1604) and Lorenz Locker (1612). In 1612 it was acquired by the city of Habelschwerdt; In 1663 it was owned by Ernest Strauch, who in 1695 sold it to a certain judge. In 1701 it came to Georg Ludwig, and it remained with his descendants for over a hundred years. At the beginning of the 19th century the Richtergut included a water mill and seven gardeners and cottagers.
