Winner of the Prix ​​du Syndicat Français de la Critique awarded by the Syndicat Français de la Critique de Cinéma et des Films de Télévision in the category Best Foreign Film ( French: Meilleur film étranger ). The award was originally introduced in 1967 in honor of the French film critic Léon Moussinac (1890–1964) as the Prix ​​Léon Moussinac . A jury consisting of members of the Syndicat Français de la Critique de Cinéma et des Films de Télévision will decide on the award .

Works by Federico Fellini , Krzysztof Kieślowski and Ken Loach received the most awards (three wins each). Directors from the German cinema was in 1976 successfully, as Aguirre of Werner Herzog was awarded.
