Przykop ( German Przykopp , 1938 to 1945 Hessenhöh ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship that belongs to the rural community Miłki (Milken) in the Giżycki powiat ( Lötzen district ).
Geographical location
Przykop is located in the eastern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 13 kilometers southeast of the district town of Giżycko (Lötzen) .
history
The former Przykopp and later Hessenhöh was an estate of the municipality of Milken ( Miłki in Polish ) throughout its existence . About the mother church the estate village from 1874 to 1945 was in the District Milken in county Lötzen in Administrative district Gumbinnen (1905 to 1945: Administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia incorporated and the registry office assigned Milken. In 1905 Przykopp had 47 inhabitants. On June 3, 1938 - officially confirmed on July 16 - Przskopp was renamed "Hessenhöh".
As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and since then has borne the Polish form of name "Przykop". Today it is part of the rural community Miłki (Milken) in the Giżycki powiat ( Lötzen district ), before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .
Religions
Until 1945 Przykopp was parish in the Protestant Church of Milken in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of St. Bruno Lötzen in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today Przykop belongs to the Protestant parish Giżycko in the diocese Mazury the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland and the Catholic church Milki in the Diocese of Ełk the Roman Catholic Church in Poland .
school
Before 1945, Przykopp / Hessenhöh did not have its own school. The children attended the school in Milken (Miłki), to whose school community the village and the neighboring town of Mniechen (1928 to 1945 Münchenfelde, in Polish Miechy) belonged. In 1945 140 school children attended the school in Milken, which was divided into three classes.
