history

Psary was first mentioned in the "Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis", which was written in 1305 during the tenure of Bishop Heinrich von Würben from Breslau . It was recorded there in Latin as "villa Psar" and at that time belonged to the Duchy of Wroclaw . When it was divided, it came to the Duchy of Brieg in 1311 and together with it in 1327 as a fiefdom to the Crown of Bohemia . In 1348/49 it was incorporated into the newly created Duchy of Ohlau . Around the middle of the 14th century, Hünern and Steinau ( near Ohlau ) belonged to the Bohemian noble family Bavor von Strakonitz . On June 26, 1397 Ludwig I, in his capacity as Duke of Ohlau zu Brieg, confirmed the sale of "Stynauia" ( Steinau ) and "Hundern" ( Hünern ) for 30 marks Prague groschen by the knight Johann von Steinau to the pastor of Riczczin . After the death of Duke Georg Wilhelm I , with whom the line of the Silesian Piasts became extinct, Hünern fell to the Crown of Bohemia, which had been owned by the Habsburgs since 1626, together with the duchies he had left behind .

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Hünern and most of Silesia fell to Prussia . After the Prussian administrative reforms , it was incorporated into the province of Silesia in 1815 and the district of Ohlau in 1817 , with which it remained connected until 1945. In 1874 the district of Hünern was formed, which consisted of the rural communities Heidau, Hünern and Philippsfeld as well as the manor districts of the same name. For the year 1933 there are 485 inhabitants, in 1939 there were 473.

As a result of World War II Hünern fell after the war, with almost all of Silesia in 1945 to Poland. The name was subsequently changed to Psary . Unless they had fled before, the German population was expelled in 1945/46 . 1975–1998 Psary belonged to the Wroclaw Voivodeship .

Attractions

Psary Church
  • The parish church of the "Birth of Mary" was built in 1713 in the Baroque style. At the beginning of the 19th century, a classical vestibule was added on the north wall, a burial chapel on the west side and a patron's box on the inside. The architectural altar with the painting “Adoration of the Child” dates from the 1st half of the 17th century.
  • In the former, no longer preserved manor park, there is an atonement cross from around 1360.
