Ratno Dolne (German Niederrathen ) is a village in the powiat Kłodzki in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland. It belongs to the urban and rural municipality Radków ( Wünschelburg ).

geography

Ratno Dolne is located on the northern edge of the Heuscheuergebirge , nine kilometers south of Nowa Ruda ( Neurode ). It is traversed by the Posna, a right tributary of the stones . Neighboring towns are Ścinawka Górna ( Obersteine ) in the north, Ścinawka Średnia ( Mittelsteine ) in the east, Raszków ( Seifersdorf ) in the southeast, Wambierzyce ( Albendorf ) in the south and Ratno Górne ( Oberrathen ) and Radków in the west.

history

Presumably in the 11th century, a Bohemian Landwehr was built on a rocky promontory above the Posna , which served as national defense. A lordship was formed around them, which was first mentioned in 1347 under the name Ratyn and was owned by the von Muschcin ( Moschen ) family . In 1368 the brothers Heinrich, Gunter, Wolfhart and Niklas von der Sterz sold Rathen to Titzko ( Tschyn ) von Panewicz . In 1404 a "Wolfram von Panewicz zum Rathin" is documented, who held the office of a man's rights assessor. Rathen stayed with his descendants until 1485, when it was passed on to the court marshal of Count Heinrich d. Ä. Zbinko von Buchau ( Zbyněk z Buchova ) arrived. In 1494 Duke Heinrich d. Ä. the Ratenhof, after whose death in 1498 Ulrich von Hardegg bought it in 1501 . In 1505 he lent the fortress Rathen along with an outbuilding to Stefan Pantzinger. From 1514 to 1613 Rathen was owned by the Reichenbach family . The next owners were Carl von Sebottendorf and Peter Langwies. In 1675 Daniel Paschasius von Osterberg bought the estate and village of Niederrathen, from which it passed to his son Johann Anton. Since 1679 Rathen, which previously always belonged to the parish of Wünschelburg, belonged to the parish of Albendorf. In 1761 Ober- and Niederrathen acquired the Neuroder Kommerzienrat Leopold Genedel, through whose heirs it came in 1854 to Woldemar von Johnston (1806–1860) and subsequently to his son Maximilian von Johnston (1847–1918). Maximilian's widow - Elisabeth Jacquemin D'Hauteville (1849–1933) - transferred the property to Baron Josef von Blanckart (* 1899) and his wife, Freiin Elisabeth-Luise von Münchhausen (1895–1978) and granddaughter of Maximilian von Johnston.

After the First Silesian War in 1742 and finally with the Peace of Hubertusburg in 1763, Niederrathen came to Prussia together with the County of Glatz . After the reorganization of Prussia, it belonged to the province of Silesia from 1815 , which was divided into districts. The district of Glatz was responsible from 1816–1853, and the district of Neurode from 1854–1932 . After its dissolution in 1933, Niederrathen again belonged to the district of Glatz until 1945.

With the extension and commissioning of the Eulengebirgsbahn from Mittelsteine - Wünschelburg, Niederrathen received a railway connection in 1903.

As a result of the Second World War , Niederrathen and most of Silesia fell to Poland in 1945 and was renamed Ratno Dolne . The German population was expelled . Some of the newly settled residents were displaced from eastern Poland . 1975-1998 Ratno Dolne belonged to the Wałbrzych Voivodeship ( Waldenburg ).
