The constituency of the German Reich.

The Reichstag constituency province East Prussia - administrative district Königsberg 3 (constituency 3; constituency Königsberg-Stadt ) was a constituency for the Reichstag elections in the German Empire and in the North German Confederation from 1867 to 1918.

Constituency layout

The constituency comprised the urban district of Königsberg in Prussia excluding the former rural communities of Ponarth , Tragheinesdorf , Vorderhufen and the former manor districts of Karolinenhof , Mühlenhof , Neue Bleiche , Rosenau , Löbenicht'scher Ziegelhof as well as parts of the communities Schönfließ , Lawsken , Kalthof and Mittelhufen and parts of the manor districts of Amalienau , Groß-Rathshof , Liep and Speichersdorf .

1893

The cartel parties had agreed on a candidate for the NLP. The basis of the agreement was Krause's promise to support the military bill.

There were two ballots. The number of eligible voters was 31,158 and the number of votes cast in the first ballot was 24,277, of which 38 were invalid. The turnout was 77.9%.

Supplementary election 1897

After Schultze's death, a supplementary election became necessary. The Conservatives did without their own candidate and supported the candidate of the German Reform Party. In the supplementary election in 1897, only one ballot took place. The number of eligible voters was 35,259 and the number of votes cast in the first ballot 23,175 of which 37 were invalid. The turnout was 65.7%.

1898

At the provincial level, the Liberal People's Party and the Liberal Association had reached a constituency agreement. The FVP named Director Krieger in the constituency as a candidate, but received no support from the FVg. Instead, the latter set up the secret commercial councilor Frentzel, who was also supported by NLP and conservatives, as its own candidate. The FVP insisted on its right to nominate by constituency agreement, the FVg considered Frentzel to be the more promising candidate and stuck to him. Since there was no agreement, both ran.

There was only one ballot. The number of eligible voters was 36,730 and the number of votes cast in the first round of voting 25,969 of which 41 were invalid. The turnout was 70.7%.

1903

In contrast to the last election, the two free-thinking parties managed to agree on a common candidate from the FVP. This also received the support of the NLP. The Conservatives put up a member of the Reich Party as a candidate.

There were two ballots. The number of eligible voters was 39,522 and the number of votes cast in the first ballot 28,508 of which 111 were invalid. The turnout was 72.1%.

The candidate of the Bülow block was the joint candidate of the NLP, FVP, FVg and the Conservatives. The center also supported him. There was only one ballot. The number of eligible voters was 42,929 and the number of votes cast in the first ballot was 37,122, of which 133 were invalid. The turnout was 86.5%.

According to the constituency agreement at the provincial level, the NLP supported the joint free-thinking candidate. There was only one ballot. The number of eligible voters was 47,369 and the number of votes cast in the first ballot was 38,266, of which 167 were invalid. The turnout was 80.8%.
