Remixed & Revisited is a Remix EP from Madonna . Due to the small number of tracks, the EP was listed in the album charts in some countries - in the single charts in others.
Emergence
After the 2003 album " American Life " turned out to be less successful than other Madonna albums, a remix album was added, which presented the rather puristic electro / folk pop tracks as rocker dance remixes. The album contains four remixed tracks from the last album, plus a live recording and "Your Honesty", an unreleased song from the recording session for "Bedtime Stories" (1994). The title "Into The Hollywood Groove" (a mashup of "Into the Groove" and "Hollywood") originally came from a GAP commercial that Madonna shot with Missy Elliott that year .
Despite the sensational promotion at the MTV Music Awards 2003, where she kissed Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera in front of an audience of millions (from which the live recording "Like A Virgin / Hollywood Medley" was included), "Remixed & Revisited" did not leave a lasting impression from fans or criticism. In total, "Remixed & Revisited" only sold 500,000 copies worldwide. The singles "Nothing Fails" and "Love Profusion", which were released at the same time, also failed to promote sales: They only reached moderate chart positions. At most, the duet by Madonna and Britney Spears "Me Against The Music" produced in the same year became a chart success.
Madonna confirmed in 2005 that she enjoyed the remixes of her recent singles more than the original album production. A reference to the next album " Confessions on a Dance Floor ", which should be produced completely in the style of the last remixes - and professional DJs .
