The Confessions Tour is the seventh concert tour by US pop star Madonna . She was promoting her studio album Confessions On A Dance Floor . Madonna has been performing in Asia for a long time .

Madonna's Tour kicked off May 21, 2006 in Iglewood, California . The tour was announced back in 2005. A total of 1.2 million people attended the tour, which secured Madonna's entry in the Guinness Book of Records . The tour itself took about 195 million US dollars a.

In the piece Live to Tell , Madonna was hanging on a huge cross. The Vatican criticized this in the person of Cardinal Ersilio Tonini as a “blasphemous challenge to the faith” and as a “desecration of the cross” and called for the excommunication of Madonna. The appearance in the Olympic Stadium in Rome in front of 70,000 spectators triggered violent protests from the Catholic Church in advance. The performance in the LTU arena was observed by the Düsseldorf public prosecutor with regard to a violation of the criminal code. The appearance in front of 50,000 spectators in the Luzhnikistadion in Moscow triggered protests by the Orthodox Church and threats from the Russian mafia. A video about children in Africa was playing in the background of the song . At the concert on August 16, 2006, Madonna's birthday , fans in London sang "Happy Birthday" to her.
