Celebration is Madonna's third best-of album and was released in Germany and other European countries on September 18, 2009 and in the USA on September 28. The album was released both as a double CD with 36 songs and as a single CD with 18 songs. The songs included cover Madonna's entire career, from Everybody from 1982 to the current singles Miles Away and Celebration . The fans were allowed to vote on the selection of songs on the Internet and so some fan favorites such as Who's That Girl and Dress You Up found space on the compilation. Madonna about it:

The album is the last to be released under Madonna's previous Warner Bros. label before switching to Live Nation . In addition, a video collection of the same name was released in Germany on September 25th and contains 47 video clips by the artist, most of them videos that have never been available on DVD before.
The single Celebration of the same name has been in the charts for several weeks. The German premiere of the video took place three days before the single was released. This hit stores on September 4th and immediately reached number 5 in the charts in Germany. The video clip for Celebration was filmed in Milan under the direction of Jonas Akerlund (Ray Of Light) . In addition to this single, there is another new song on the album, namely “ Revolver feat. Lil Wayne ".
The artist Mr. Brainwash was responsible for the album artwork. There were release parties around the world for the publication, as well as extensive advertising campaigns. In numerous metropolises huge posters adorned the memorable album cover could be seen in metro stations. The album went straight to number 1 in Germany, Great Britain and Italy after a week.
