Vogue is a house song by Madonna . The song was released as a single from their soundtrack album I'm Breathless - Music from and Inspired by the Film Dick Tracy in March 1990 . It is based on the dance form Voguing the gay community of Harlem in New York City on.

Vogue was written by Madonna and Shep Pettibone . The song is based on a drum computer beat typical of house music of the time , over which a synthetic bassline, various synthesizer sounds and house-typical piano chords are placed.
