Crazy for You is a 1985 song by the American pop singer Madonna , written by John Bettis and Jon Lind . It is included in the soundtrack to the films Vision Quest and 30 Overnight .

history

At first, the producer of the song, John Benitez, had a hard time because, as with Gambler , this track was originally not supposed to be released at the request of the Sire Records label . The label management believed that Crazy for You would put the other releases from the album Like a Virgin in the background. The song was recorded with small drums, harp, synthesizer and electric guitar. The text alludes to the sexual pleasure of two lovers.

After its release on February 20, 1985, this song became Madonna's second number one hit in the United States after Like a Virgin , and it also made it to the top of the Canadian and Australian charts. In 1986 the song was nominated for the Grammy Awards in the category "Best Female Vocal Performance - Pop", but lost to Whitney Houston's classic Saving All My Love for You .

In the episode Long John Peter from Family Guy sings Chris Griffin the song.
