The Remontowa B264 ships are two ferries that crossed the Öresund between Helsingør and Helsingborg as Simara Ace and Siluna Ace on the ACE Link . The ships were sold after a few years and converted into residential and offshore support ships.
history
The ships were designed by Knud E. Hansen and Steen Friis Design. They were ordered in 2003 by Moltzau Tankskibsrederi for use at Sundbusserne between Helsingør and Helsingborg from the Polish shipyard Remontowa . Due to financial difficulties on the part of the client, there were delays in the construction of the ferries. The ships were not completed until 2007 and 2008 after the Norwegian Eitzen Group took over shares from Sundbusserne. The launch of the first of the two ships took place in early 2007. It was delivered on 19 November and on 29 November 2007 in Helsingborg before the maiden voyage baptized . The second ship was delivered in early February 2008 and christened on February 8th.
The ships were used on the new ACE Link between Helsingør and Helsingborg (the name goes back to the initials of Axel Camillo Eitzen, the managing director of the Eitzen Group).
Because of low capacity utilization which was Simara Ace late 2008 removed from the ride and in Helsingborg launched . At the beginning of January 2010 the service was stopped and the Siluna Ace was launched in Helsingborg.
Whereabouts
In September 2011, the ships were sold to Chevalier Floatels, who had them converted into residential and offshore support vessels at Holland Shipyards.
The vessels are of Tschudi Ship Management bereedert .
Technical data and equipment
The ships are powered by diesel-electric technology . For electricity generation were initially three four-stroke - six-cylinder - diesel engines of manufacturer Volvo Penta (type: D30A), each with 569 kW power available, the three generators from manufacturer A van Kaick each with 711 kVA apparent power drives. A Volvo Penta generator (220 kW output) was installed as an emergency generator. Propulsion is carried out by two electric motors from SAM Electronics, which drive two Schottel propeller nacelles with an output of 600 kW each. The diesel engines burn low-sulfur diesel fuel . Catalysts and particle filters are available for exhaust gas treatment .
The ships were equipped with a bow thruster with 300 kW power and have fin stabilizers .
The ships have five decks . The entrances to the ships were on the main deck (each on the port and starboard side).
During the renovation in 2013, the ships were lengthened by around nine meters and some were newly motorized. Three Volvo Penta diesel generators with 640 kW each and two Caterpillar diesel generators with 700 kW each are now used to generate electricity . The emergency generator was retained. An additional propeller nacelle with 440 kW output was installed in the bow area, so that the ships now have a system for dynamic positioning .
Part of the superstructure in the aft section was removed to make room and a. for a work deck and to create storage spaces. The working deck initially offered 120 m². In 2016, an additional deck was installed in the stern area in order to have more space. A total of 250 m² are now available, half of which are covered or open. In the covered area there are container fittings for a 20-foot container and two 10-foot containers, in the open area there are fittings for a 20-foot and a 10-foot container. The ships are equipped with a crane at the stern that can lift 2 t with a 10 m outreach. A gangway was installed on the bridge deck behind the superstructure, through which personnel from the ship can step over to offshore installations. At the stern there is also a platform for the transfer of personnel by boat.
During the reconstruction of the ships, cabins were set up for the crew and workers. Including the crew, cabins for 60 people were available; 38 single cabins and two double cabins were set up for workers. In 2016 the capacity was increased to 70 people.
The ships can stay at sea for up to 30 days.
The ships are equipped with a moon pool and set up for the use of a fan sonar .
