René Schoenenberger (born September 15, 1946 in Wald ZH , Zurich Oberland ) is a Swiss actor and radio play speaker .

Life

René Schoenenberger grew up in the Zurich Oberland, attended school there and performed his puppet theater for the village children in his youth. While still at school, he started playing theater and took private lessons from Hannes Becher in Zurich. In 1964 he was accepted at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich and studied with Ellen Mahlke and Gerd Brothers . During his acting training he already received engagements at the Residenztheater and Theater der Jugend .

Schoenenberger got his first permanent engagement in Cologne at the Theater am Dom in 1967/68. Various film and television roles followed, including a. with Werner Schroeter in Eika Katappa  (1969) and Salome  (1971). A popular hit. Do you want to stay a virgin forever?  (1969). The film Fräulein von Stradonitz in memoriam  (1973) received the rating “particularly valuable” from the Wiesbaden film evaluation office . Furthermore, Schoenenberger had many appearances in German and Swiss TV series. In 2013 he shot The Resignation , the story of the resignation of Federal President Christian Wulff , in the role of Lothar Hagebölling , head of the Federal President's Office .

René Schoenenberger is a member of the European Film Academy and the German Film Academy .
