The Renabakkene is a complex of five ski jumps in the Norwegian town of Rena in the province Innlandet .

history

There were already various ski jumping hills in Rena in the 19th century. For several reasons, the search for a place for a new ski jumping hill was started in the 1930s. In December 1934, the Rena IL was able to complete the K 60 ski jump and six months later the K 90 ski jump, whereby the community housed one of the largest ski jumping centers in Norway. In addition, the smaller ski jumps K40 and K20 were built in 1939. In 1964 the ski jumping facility was rebuilt and in 1972 the K120 was extended to a mini flying hill. After the renovation work at the end of the 1990s, the ski jumping facility consisted of K120, K90, K40, K25, K15.

When the certification expired in 2007/08, the two large jumps were to be upgraded to K99 (HS 111) and K124 (HS 139). In addition, the modernization and plastic covering of the small jumps at K60, K40, K20, K10 and the infrastructure at the jumps were planned for a total of around 10 million crowns (1.4 million euros). They also wanted to set up some cross-country trails in order to be able to carry out Nordic combined competitions. However, the work was delayed due to vandalism, flooding and financial problems, so that it was not completed until September 2012.

Several Norwegian ski jumping championships took place in Rena: 1966 (large and normal hill), 1976 (large hill), 1982 (large hill), 1988 (large hill), 1994 (large hill), 1999 (large hill), 2000 (normal hill and team normal hill) as well as in 2012 (large, normal hill and team ski jumping normal hill). In recent years, Norges Cup competitions have also been held. Seven Continental Cup competitions have been held on the facility since 2013, and for the first time in 2020 for women.

Since the 2017/18 season , the Norwegian Nordic Combined Continental Cup competitions have been held on the large hill (HS 111) in Rena instead of Høydalsmo ( Huka Hoppanlegg , HS 94).
