Rialto is a city in San Bernardino County in the US state of California , with around 99,100 inhabitants (as of 2010). The urban area covers a total of 56.7 square kilometers.
The city gained fame through Interstate 210 , which is here regularly used as a location for Hollywood productions. In addition, due to the favorable traffic situation (road, rail, air), several US retail chains have set up regional distribution centers here, for example Staples , Toys "R" us , FedEx and Target Corporation .
Demographics
According to the 2010 census , Rialto had 99,171 inhabitants. Compared to 2000, this was an increase of over 7,000 when around 91,800 people still lived in the city. The majority of the population are Hispanic Americans or immigrants from Latin American countries. Also known as Latinos , this group of people represents more than half of Rialto's population. The proportion of Hispanic citizens is above average in all of southern California. White Americans are the second largest ethnic group, accounting for about 30 percent. African Americans make up 16 percent of the city's residents and are therefore strongly represented by California standards. Asians and all other population groups form a minority. The number of households in the city was around 25,200 according to the 2010 census. For every 100 women there were 94.7 men while the median age was 26 years.
