Road Trip - Bier Pong (more rarely Road Trip 2: Die Biermeister , in the original Road Trip: Beer Pong ) is an American comedy from 2009 and the direct-to-video sequel of Road Trip .

action

Kyle Edwards leads an introductory event at the University of Ithaca as a so-called "PUSSI" (Primarily Undecided Searching Student Informant) . He begins to tell a story about " love , sex and the restless pursuit of academic excellence":

The story begins with Andy and Katy, who have been a happy couple for years, but are then forced to enter into a long-distance relationship at the beginning of their studies because they study at different universities. Andy is tempted to meet other women again and again, also because of his best friend Korkin's urging. However, he does not give in to temptation at first because he does not want to cheat on his girlfriend Katy. A little later, Katy moves from CMU , where she is studying agriculture, to Ithaca to be close to her boyfriend.

Andy is a member of the beer-pong team at his “Hagan Hall” dormitory, which Korkin manages on a provisional basis, along with Jake, who is permanently stoned . When the team at "TaTa's PUB" wins the regional beer-pong championship, it has the opportunity to take part in the national college championship in Atlanta . Before that, Andy, Korkin and Jake find the French Jenna on the Internet, with whom Andy almost had his first time at 16. She now works as a beer pong promo girl. Andy contacts her and makes an appointment with her during a stopover on her promotional tour in Illinois .

Despite Andy's guilty conscience towards Katy, the friends decide to go there. To finance their road trip, they visit the Indian Arash, whom Jake knows from an introductory course in modern drug culture and whose father is the dictator of Tandoor. But that very same day is overthrown, which means that Arash also loses his money and a SWAT team turns up at his house and arrests the entire troop. Andy, Korkin, Jake and Arash are interrogated all night by the CIA , some tortured and abandoned the next day in Bethesda, Maryland . In order to get to Illinois after all, the four of them steal a taxi and set off.

Katy, who calls Andy from Bethesda, is initially angry with her boyfriend because she was very worried about him and doesn't believe him about the CIA. Andy realizes, however, that they can no longer reach Illinois in time. However, he makes arrangements with Jenna to meet at her next stopover, which is why they continue their journey. On the way they stop at a strip club because Arash wants to use a toilet. Meanwhile, Andy calls Katy again, who tells him that she read about the fall of Arash's father in the newspaper and that she wants to reconcile with Andy about it. She even plans a future together with him and suggests, among other things, a shared apartment, which Andy leaves almost uncommented.

When Arash accidentally urinates on the strip club owner's daughter during a lap dance , the four of them have to flee from there and continue their journey. Shortly afterwards, they take an attractive stroll with them, who a little later turns out to be a criminal in a supermarket and steals their stolen taxi. When the troupe kneeled on the roadside in despair and praying, they were accepted by a girls' tour group led by Sarah. Sarah, the daughter of a Reverend , and her traveling party are on their way home from a church meeting and are members of a chastity movement .

After the entire tour group has stayed with Katy's mother, they finally arrive in Atlanta. There Andy meets Jenna and performs his song In The Buff , which he originally recorded for Katy and which later spread quickly on YouTube . Andy and Jenna later start kissing in Jenna's tour bus , but Andy breaks this off and Jenna understands that he has chosen Katy. Korkin and Sarah also sleep together in the coach despite Sarah's vow of chastity.

Although Katy finds out about Andy's kiss with Jenna, she sets off for Atlanta. Andy and Jake's Beer Pong Championship final against their main competitor Raz-R and his teammates is currently taking place there. Despite poor chances, Andy and Jake win with a trick and the help of Katy and become beer-pong world champions. At the end, Kyle tells the further development of the protagonists: After Katy moved back to the CMU, she and Andy resumed their long-distance relationship and regularly have sex with each other on holidays . Korkin and Sarah fell in love, and Jake was named coach of Ithaca's beer pong team. Arash has a love affair with Sujatmi, with whom he already had an erotic conversation on the radio on the coach.

background

Road Trip - Bier Pong is a so-called direct-to-video production. It was therefore produced for the home video market and never appeared in the cinema. The film was released on DVD and video-on-demand .

The film is the sequel to Road Trip from 2000. Although the plot of the two films is not directly related, they have clear similarities. Both films are loosely about a story that is told during a university tour and is about a couple in love and their problems with a long-distance relationship. In addition, both films are initially set at the University of Ithaca, later a so-called road trip is discussed. With the exception of DJ Qualls in his role as Kyle Edwards, there are no leading actors from the first road trip film in the sequel. However, Rhoda Griffis can be seen in both films as the mother of a student who takes part in the university tour. This is also referred to in Road Trip - Bier Pong through the following dialogue between the lasciviously flirting mother and her daughter with Edward . The daughter: “You're doing it again” - “What? What do I do? ”-“ You know exactly what I mean. Ryan told me what you did when he went to university. ”Specifically, this alludes to the final scene from Road Trip, in which the mother begins to smooch with the local manager Barry Manilow (played by Tom Green ).

The title of the film alludes to the drinking and skill game Bier Pong , which is often played professionally in the film.

criticism

"Clothes in the tradition of ' American Pie ' and ' Party Animal ', which has nothing to offer except embarrassment and suggestive gags."
