Roscheid is a residential area in the town of Attendorn in the Olpe district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) and has 23 residents.

Roscheid is located at an altitude of 430 m west of the core town of Attendorn, southwest of Windhausen , north of Listerscheid on the southern edge of the Ebbegebirge .

history

Roscheid was first mentioned on October 10, 1463 in a document from the monastery Ewig , when a dispute between the monastery and a citizen of Attendorn over an inherited property on a " mountain called Rosscheit " was concerned.

It was not until 1601 that the monastery on Roscheid had a “very small Kötter estate” built. The tenant should watch out for the monastery forests there. Jakob vom Roschet is named as one of the tenants until 1669, after his death his son-in-law Jakob Springob from Lichtringhausen and after his death in 1674 Jakob Bree, who married the widow. However, in 1678 he moved to the Köttergut Weltringhausen , and his successor on Roscheid was a linen weaver.

Politically, Roscheid was formerly part of the Waldenburg office and in the Gogericht and parish Attendorn part of the Albringhausen peasantry . From 1819 in the Attendorn office to the Attendorn-Land community .

In 1893 Hof Roscheid was bought by Emmerich Luke. Until then he had worked as a blacksmith and cart blacksmith in Petersburg and also ran a carter tavern there. He was succeeded by his son Josef Emmerich Luke (1887–1955). His son Norbert Luke sen. (1929–1996) converted the agricultural and forestry operations into a catering business in 1968. A hotel was added in 1972 and an indoor swimming pool with a sauna area was added five years later. In 1979 the hotel was expanded by a few more rooms. Today the family Norbert Luke jun. the Landgasthof Roscheid as a country hotel, restaurant and café. In addition to the country inn, there are a few houses on the road west of the farm.

The address book from 1956 in Roscheid lists the names "Luke (3 people) and Rüschenberg". In 1988 the place had 32 inhabitants.

A hikers' car park in Roscheid, which is idyllically situated in the middle of forests and meadows, is the starting point for hikes on well-developed paths through the Ebbegebirge nature park with a connection to the Sauerland-Höhenflug .

As part of the local reorganization in 1969, the Attendorn-Land community was incorporated into the city of Attendorn.

Roscheid belongs to the parish of Lichtringhausen , sport and club life takes place in the larger neighboring towns.
