history

Russdorf, church

Rußdorf was first mentioned in 1230 as "Rulandistorff". In the course of the state expansion in the 12th and 13th centuries, the Rudelsburg weir system was built at 296  m above sea level. NN high Lindenberg above the Koberbach valley. It was first mentioned in 1304 in the course of the acquisition of interest on the Rußdorf Chapel by the Grünhain monastery , where a knight Ericus de Rulandesdorf is called dictus de Ponicz . In 1372, the Gries family is named as village and castle owners, who are the castle men of the bailiffs of Weida and Plauen . The formerly wooden weir system seems to have been replaced by a stone castle in the 14th century. Then the trace is lost in the story.

Between the 16th and 19th centuries, Rußdorf belonged to the manor of the Blankenhain manor . Around 1800, the former manor and now the Vorwerk of the village of Rußdorf was built from the remains of the wall of the castle ruins . At the end of the 19th century there were reports of wall remains on the Lindenberg. In 1927 excavations are said to have taken place in the castle area. Today only earth walls and remains of moats on the castle stables are evidence of the former castle complex. Until 1856, Rußdorf belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Zwickau . In 1856 Rußdorf was affiliated to the Werdau court office and in 1875 to the Zwickau administration .

On July 1, 1950, Russdorf was incorporated into Blankenhain . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Rußdorf became part of the municipality of Blankenhain in 1952 and became part of the Werdau district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Werdau from 1990 and in 1994 in the Zwickauer Land district or 2008 in the district of Zwickau. On January 1, 1994, the community of Blankenhain and its districts were incorporated into Crimmitschau. Since then, Rußdorf has been a place within the Crimmitschau village of Blankenhain.
