Rudolf Mors

Rudolf Mors (born July 16, 1920 in Munich , † September 24, 1988 in Eisingen ) was a German composer .

Life

As the son of composer Richard Morse (1874-1946), a representative of the Munich school to Ludwig Thuille , Rudolf Mors began his training even during the Second World War when Gustav Geierhaas to them after his return from Soviet captivity in Joseph Haas and Karl Höller continue . His graduation from the Munich Music Academy was honored with the Richard Strauss Prize of the City of Munich , the first recipient of which is Mors.

In 1951 he became Kapellmeister and composer for the drama theater in Ingolstadt , followed by an engagement as first Kapellmeister at the Ulm Theater, where he wrote and premiered the two musical parodies Freedom in Krähwinkel and Der Weiberstreik in collaboration with the cabaret artist Hanns Dieter Hüsch . The women's strike , broadcast by ZDF in the 1960s , is still occasionally on the fixtures today. In 1963 Mors switched to the position of drama composer at the Bielefeld Theater , where he was able to devote more time to composing free works.

In 1983 Mors was awarded the Westphalian Music Prize of the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association for his complete works .
