Overview

Teams of the Rugby Bundesliga 2013/14

The 2013/14 season was played in the new league system .

The first phase, the regional preliminary round, ended on October 2, 2013. This was followed by the qualification phase in the three cups: championship round , DRV cup and league cup . The best three teams in the 1st Bundesliga from each regional group qualified directly for the championship round. The last of the 1st Bundesliga and the best two of the 2nd Bundesliga qualified for the DRV-Pokal. For the fourth and fifth placed in the 1st Bundesliga, a relegation round decided whether to participate in the championship round or the DRV Cup.

In the second phase, each regional group no longer played for itself, but North and East went into one season and South and West into a second season. In the second phase, the game was played according to the "everyone against everyone" principle, with results from teams that had already played against each other in the preliminary round. The first two in the championship round were directly in the quarter-finals of the knockout phase, while the third to sixth placed got into the round of 16. The places seven and eight were eliminated.
