Career

In the 2007/08 season he played in the Oberliga Nordost, initially for Berlin Ankaraspor 07 . During the winter break, he joined the league competitor and later regional league promoted Türkiyemspor Berlin . It was only taken into account regularly in the following season. From then on he became a regular player before moving to the third division for SV Babelsberg 03 in 2010 . He made his professional debut on August 1, 2010 (2nd matchday) when he was substituted on for Guido Koçer in the 1-0 defeat in the away game against SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the 61st minute .

After his arrest on April 18, 2011, Koç could no longer participate in games until July 2012 (see Miscellaneous ). For the 2012/13 season he received a new contract from SV Babelsberg. In January 2014 he moved to SC Paderborn 07 , with whom he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2014 . In this he made his debut on August 24, 2014 (1st matchday), in a 2-2 home game against 1. FSV Mainz 05 . Koç scored his first goal in the top German division on the seventh match day of the same season in the away game at Bayer Leverkusen to make it 0-1 in the 20th minute (final score of the game 2-2).

In January 2017 Koç moved to the Turkish Süper Lig to Çaykur Rizespor . With this club he quickly fought for a regular place, but could not prevent the relegation of his team to the TFF 1st Lig . Koç stayed with the Black Sea Club despite relegation and formed a successful offensive team with Braian Samudio . At the end of the season he was second division champion with his team and rose with him back to the Süper Lig. In this league he was sorted out by the new head coach during the first half of the season and put on the sales list for the winter break. In the winter transfer period 2018/19 he was signed by the second division Adana Demirspor .

Others

On April 18, 2011, Koç was arrested by the police. He was charged with participating in several robberies with serious robbery and assault . In the process at the Berlin Regional Court on December 22, 2011, he was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for aiding and abetting as a driver. Since he was supposed to do this in an open prison based on a good social prognosis , he asked SV Babelsberg 03 for a “second chance” and received a new one-year contract for the 2012/13 season. Koç had to go back to prison by the time the open prison exam was completed. From autumn 2012 he was outdoors . At the end of December 2013, Süleyman Koç was released early from prison.
