Sadowoje ( Russian Садовое ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Koenigsberg region (Prussia) ) and belongs to the Niwenskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Niwenskoje (Wittenberg) ) in the Bagrationovsk district ( Prussian Eylau district ).

Geographical location

Sadowoje is one kilometer north of Slavskoje (Kreuzburg (Ostpr.)) On the north bank of the Pasmar (Russian: Maiskaja). In town, two side streets cross, the one from Swetloje (Kobbelbude) not far from the Slavskoje exit of the Russian trunk road R 516 (former German highway "Berlinka" ) to Krasnosnamenskoje (Dollstädt) and Bagrationovsk (Prussian Eylau) and from Niwenskoje (Wittenberg) to Pogranitschnoje ( Wittenberg) Hus tendons) in the Russian-Polish border area. Until 1945 there was a railway connection via the station in Kreuzburg (Russian: Slawskoje) of the Kleinbahn Tharau – Kreuzburg .

history

Before 1945, Sadowoje was an unnamed residential area in the north of the city of Kreuzburg (Ostpr.) (Until 1931 Creuzburg i. Ostpr. ) In the district of Preußisch Eylau in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia and came to the Soviet Union as a result of the Second World War with northern East Prussia . On July 5, 1950, the place was named " Sadowoje ".

Until 2009, Sadowoje was incorporated into the Wladimirowski selski soviet (Dorfsovjet Wladimirowo (Tharau) ) and has since been - due to a structural and administrative reform - a “settlement” (Russian: possjolok) declared place within the Niwenskoje selskoje posselenije (rural municipality Niwenskoje. Niwenskoje (Wittenberg) ) in Bagrationovsk district .

church

Before 1945 only a few people lived in what is now called Sadowoje. They were almost all of the Protestant denomination and belonged to the parish in Creuzburg i. Ostpr. (1931–1946 Kreuzburg (Ostpr.) , Russian: Slawskoje). It was incorporated into the church district Preussisch Eylau (Bagrationowsk) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

For the evangelical church members living in Sadowoje today, Gwardeiskoje (Mühlhausen) is the closest congregation with its venerable village church , which is the branch congregation of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELCER).
