Samovo

Samowo (German Zamow ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It is located in the Gmina Kołobrzeg (rural municipality Kolberg) in the powiat Kołobrzeski (Kolberg district) .

The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 90 kilometers northeast of Stettin and about 15 kilometers southwest of Kolberg . The Baltic coast is about 8 kilometers north.

In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's Detailed Description of the Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), Zamow is listed among the villages of the Treptow Office . At that time there was one free school in Zamow , four farm positions, three two-thirds farm positions, five Büdner houses and a schoolmaster, a total of 15 households (“fire places”).

According to the 1871 census, there were 27 residential buildings with 206 inhabitants in 39 households in the municipality of Zamow. Until 1945 Zamow formed a rural community in the district of Greifenberg i. Pom. in the Prussian province of Pomerania . Apart from Zamow, there were no other places to live in the community.

In 1945 Zamow came to Poland, like all of Western Pomerania. The place name was Polonized to "Samowo". Today the place belongs to the Gmina Kołobrzeg (rural municipality Kolberg) , in which it forms its own Schulzenamt .
