Sobiemierz (German Sophienhof ) is a residential area in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It is located in Gmina Kołobrzeg (Kolberg municipality) .

Geographical location

The place of residence is in Western Pomerania on Woiwodschaftsstraße 102 between Trzebiatów ( Treptow an der Rega ) in the west and Kołobrzeg ( Kolberg ) in the east, about 100 kilometers northeast of Szczecin .

Immediately to the east of the residential area is the village of Bogusławiec ( Charlottenhof ). The village Drzonowo ( Drenow ) is located about three kilometers to the northwest .

history

In the middle of the 19th century, Sophienhof was laid out as the Vorwerk of the Drenow estate . When the owner of the estate at the time, Hermann Braeger , sold parts of his estate around 1910, the Sophienhof Vorwerk was also part of it. It was divided into five farms of 10 hectares of land and two farms of 25 hectares of land.

After the formation of manor districts in the 19th century, Sophienhof belonged to the Drenow manor district . With the division of the Drenow estate in 1910, the estate district was dissolved and Sophienhof became part of the Drenow rural community. As part of the rural community of Drenow, Sophienhof belonged to the Kolberg-Körlin district of the Prussian province of Pomerania until 1945 .

After 1945, Sophienhof came to Poland, like all of Western Pomerania. It was given the Polish name Sobiemierz , the population was replaced by Poles.
